Q: What is Colloidal Silver, what is ionic silver and what is the difference?

A: Technically speaking, colloidal silver is defined as particles and clusters of silver in the 1 -100 nanometer size range. A particle is at least two atoms of silver, each atom has at least 47 orbital electrons. Colloidal silver is particles-clusters that are approximately 1 nanometer to 1 micron in size, that are dispersed into a liquid is colloidal silver. Although technically liquids other than water would still accurately describe colloidal silver, and the addition of proteins may also still qualify as a colloid and even compounds may at times qualify, when we speak of colloidal silver we mean 1 nm to 1 micron silver particles in water specifically, and no other additives. Actually with regard to our products the size is usually under 5 nanometers by volume. The particles size of our products are generally 4/1000 of a micron or less as the average particle size by volume. Colloidal particles are in a state of dynamic-balance and are in essence electrically neutral (not positive of negative) because the two charges present are in a state of equilibrium, for the most part, which is why the particles are evenly suspended and stable which also describes the colloidal state.

1 Micron = 1000 Nanometers. A unit of length equal to one millionth (10-6) of a meter, the expression (10-6) is is rarely in technical use, and is mentioned simply for reference.

Ionic silver - An ion is an atom or group of atoms that is not electrically neutral but instead carries a positive or negative electric charge. Positive ions are formed when neutral atoms or molecules lose valence electrons; negative ions are formed when they gain electrons.

Ionic silver: Ionic silver is not accurately in a colloidal state, also, it is not mono atomic (mono-atomic) aka (monatomic). Single silver atoms are about 0.288 nm in diameter. A silver atom normally has 47 orbital electrons, it is the loss of at least one orbital electron that is the description of the ionic state. Silver in the ionic state is considered dissolved, ions are not accurately described as particles and are not the same as the discrete state of particles as is found in clusters of atoms (at least two atoms each with at least 47 orbital electrons) which is the definition of a colloid. The term colloidal dispersion is not accurate for a primarily ionic silver because it is dissolved silver, which is accurately described as a silver solution. That said, there is virtually always a ratio of silver ions present with silver particles that are in a true colloidal state, even if it the amount of ions present is very small.

Particle size is very important, yet regardless of any opinion it is a products viability that is the most important. With our happiness guarantee you can try a 250 ml or 500 ml bottle of our product risk free.

Q: What is the primary difference between MagicBullet, Spellbound and the Bulk Colloidal silver?

A: The technology used to create both products in essence is the same. That said, it is important to note that MagicBullet is the highest quality in terms of the overall process. Spellbound™ is the non technical grade offering that comes in approximately the same nanometer sized particles, one of the primary differences is that the water is not as aggressively deionized. The bottom line is that both are excellent products and the differences are not significant for most applications. The other notable difference is the product description and target purpose and product labeling. MagicBullet™ is designed to promote research, whereas Spellbound™ is designated as a household product.

The Bulk Ionic Colloidal Silver blend is an entirely different product and process when compared to the MagicBullet™ and Spellbound™ true colloidal products The 10 ppm .9999 pure ionic silver, is made primarily of silver ions, ions are the smallest possible size for silver. Atoms of silver have 47 orbital electrons. When one of the outermost orbital electrons is lost the atom then has 46 orbital electrons which is the accurate definition of the ionic state (cation). Silver in the ionic state is considered dissolved and is not treated as a particle in the same manner that true colloids are. A cluster of two or more atoms is considered a particle in the normal sense of a colloid. Most dietary products sold are actually ionic not colloidal, even if the product label says colloidal silver.

Our products are very reasonably priced, are all of very high quality and if you have a need to determine the appropriateness for your intended application we suggest that you try our products yourself.

Q: I have spent many hours researching colloidal silver and your product has the best particle size, quality and stability I have found. My question is; why is it also the cheapest, shouldn't it be more expensive than other products?

A: It is true that our colloidal silver is a true colloidal silver and that it is professionally made.
The reason that we are able to offer our products at very competitive process is due to the fact that we have developed the process intentionally to also create commercial volumes of the product. Unlike products that are created via very limited batch processes, our process allows us to produce in volume consistently. As with any technology, as the manufacturing process improves and becomes commercially viable the cost to consumes for that technology is reduced and reasonably priced. Higher priced products does not indicate better quality. You can try a single 250 ml or 500 ml bottle of our products risk free to validate the quality yourself.

Q: Which is better a true colloid or an Ionic Solution?

A: It depends on the intended purpose. To give an illustration that is based on private unpublished research we have been conducting via clinical associates (for example only), ions have a tendency to be more reactive in terms of creating the conditions that cause bacteria to self destruct (in our opinion). Colloids that are between 1 – 10 nanometers have been shown to be highly reactive in causing the self destruction of viruses, and is somewhat less reactive to bacteria than ions are. This difference is not always very drastic, it depends on the average particle size and many other factors. We are not the only ones to have identified this phenomena as evidenced by this article recent study. Beyond these simple examples, one must bear in mind that there are literally thousands if not millions of potential uses for both silver ions and nano-particles/colloids and there is no way to address but a few examples for illustration here.

Q: Is all colloidal silver the same? Why is there so much conflicting information about colloidal silver products?

A: Many if not most products sold and labeled colloidal silver are actually ionic silver. How can that be true you ask?
(a) The primary reason in our opinion is that consumers are looking for colloidal silver, therefore;
(b) The manufacturer may be a small entity with very limited knowledge of the science and is either mistaken in their assumption that they are making a true colloid, or they are actually being deceptive and do know they are making only an ionic solution.
(c) Another reason that manufacturers use terms like hydrosol and oligodynamic when the product they are describing is actually ionic, is that colloidal silver has suffered attacks on its public perception, primarily by industries that perceive colloid silver as a financial threat to their interests. So some manufactures use terms that attempt to separate their product from negative impressions and to set themselves apart from other products in some manner, even if it only via primarily words that are either not technically correct or paint an impression of sound scientific terminology which it is not.
(d) The main reason that there is so much confused information and misinformation, in our opinion is that people marketing or commenting on colloidal silver; either do not know better and believe what they are saying, even if they are technically wrong, are very negatively or positively biased and exclude various facts, or they are knowingly misleading. In any case it is not helpful that this topic is complex without such obstacles to understanding, but we have provided much information at this site to help you gain greater understanding about the science involved in a manner a layman can understand and relate to as well as the more technically inclined.
(e) In truth we are only aware of one other company that makes a product that actually is a true colloid, and although that may seem odd, once one understands that ionic silver also is a viable product the reason for both forms of silver being popular makes more sense. In order to navigate the often confusing and conflicting data on the Internet as concerns colloidal and ionic silver we have put together the 'Reading Room” that provides a good starting point to read about these issues in much more detail.

Q: What can colloidal silver and ionic silver be used for?

A: The most simple answer we can give, relative to our products, is to direct you to read the product description and disclaimer. However; an important consideration to keep in mind is that what is needed most, in spite of an approximately 100 year history regarding colloidal silver, as with any valuable technology is research, from both a knowledge only perspective and from a product development perspective. That is where our unique product MagicBullet™ shines as a commercially and practically viable solution to such needs.

What uses of MagicBullet™ are legal? Simply put there are potentially thousands of legal uses in terms of research and development, which is a principle focus of this product. Bear in mind the stated product description and disclaimer at the top of this page with regard to any use. We only advocate use of our product as it is sold, as per our product labeling.

We urge anyone who is involved in industries that have a need to control bacteria, viruses mold and other organisms to read the Colloidal Silver knowledge base for a more complete history and technical perspective regarding colloidal silver as well as related regulatory and other concerns.

Q: Could silver ions and colloidal silver particles be combined?

A: Yes the two forms are easily combined, and we do that. However the list of issues that must be considered with regard to a given application are vast. To frame the answer more succinctly, we think that there is benefit in having both types of particles present, and in fact we have already slated the future release of a dietary supplement that will contain both forms, as well as primarily ionic and pure colloidal versions. We also have other proprietary products in the pipeline that we will not go into at this time, but suffice it to say there are many potential applications for an ionic and nano-silver hydrosol combinations. Note: hydrosol is simply a technical way of saying silver colloid that uses water as the dispersion medium.

Q: Why is the colloid you sell golden colored, I heard colloidal silver should be clear?

A: Our colloidal silver is a TRUE colloid and the color is normal. Clear ionic solutions are not a colloid. The reason is somewhat like explaining why the sky is blue. In this case it is golden because silver particles that are the size that we use absorb the blue part of the spectrum while the yellow red light rays are reflected as a golden color. ApropoSilver is not contaminated with oxides as some past errors of science sometimes give as an explanation for a yellow-gold color, neither is it due to a large particle size as has also been explained in error. Aproposilver is comprised of nano particles, as should already be obvious which are the smallest particles possible. We should note that not every product out there that is yellow or golden will automatically be a small particle size, particle size is determined by proper testing.

Those of you with proper technical background already know that true colloidal silver has a color that ranges from light yellow to a brownish color, which is determined by particle size and the number of parts per million (ppm). When the particle size is such that it actually meets the technical standard and proper identification as a colloid. The explanation as to why the golden color of this product is similar to answering the question; why is the sky blue? Particles of silver in the nano-range absorb a specific part of the light spectrum and in turn reflect the opposite range, thus the color. In the case of the sky it is ozone that is absorbing and reflecting light in a manner that produces the blue hue. We only use pure distilled water and silver of known high purity, color is not due to contaminants. Any past colloidal chemistry text that has not been updated to the current level of knowledge, or person claiming color is due to contaminants is simply in error in terms of current state of the art and in particular this product. To gain more perspective regarding the technical aspects of colloidal silver you can review the material via the Reading Room link at the top of the page.

Q: I am researching dietary and food additive use of colloidal silver as a potential ingredient, ingredient aid or product offering by our company, do you know if colloidal silver is safe for such purposes, do you know if such use will harm the helpful bacteria in the intestines?

A: This is a question that is best answered in brief and from shall we say a theoretical perspective since our products are not currently sold for such use. Dietary use of colloidal silver is well established and we cover this issue in detail in the knowledge base in the section titled: Colloidal Silver Toxicology. What we do know is that liquids especially water are absorbed primarily in the stomach within minutes and that next to none of the liquid directly travels into the digestive tract. The fact that liquids are absorbed rapidly has been established From 1825 to 1835, by William Beaumont, who extensively conducted research on a live person. “From 1825 to 1835, William Beaumont produced visual evidence that water (and liquids generally -ed) admitted to the stomach is always absorbed within a few minutes. This is an interesting story and deserves retelling. On June 6, 1822, at Fort Mackinac, Michigan (near the Canadian border), an incident occurred that was to result in some of the most bizarre research ever recorded in medical history. On that date, William Beaumont, a young surgeon with the U.S. Army, treated Alexis St. Martin, an 18–year–old Canadian, for a shotgun–blast at three–foot range. The charge entered just below the left breast, tearing off a large portion of the side . . . . the ribs fractured and openings were made into the cavities of the chest and abdomen (about 2½" diameter) through which protruded portions of the lungs and stomach, much lacerated and burnt." These openings healed peripherally, and were closed internally by a "flap valve" of tissue (actually the inner coats of the stomach), which could be readily pushed aside, enabling ready access and direct view of the stomach.”

Q: If the particles are nano sized then is this considered nano-technology, if so isn't nano technology not yet proven to be safe?

A: The short answer is yes the technology falls under the science of nano-technology too, but the technology has been and is primarily under the umbrella of colloidal chemistry for about the last 100 years. Nano technology is an emerging science, however there is confusion as to what is meant by emerging nano-technologies, and well established products should not be sucked into the new label unduly. The concerns that are voiced with regard to nano-technology are primarily with regard to exotic materials, meaning the creation of materials that do not exist in nature. That said it is very appropriate to note that known-natural materials that are in the nano state may posses unusual properties, such as silver's known history with regard to anti-microbial properties that are effective against hundreds of pathogens. Nano sized particles of pure silver more accurately involves colloidal chemistry. Colloidal chemistry, as concerns colloidal silver, for about 100 years, sub micron and nanometer sized particles have been used and defined as a colloidal material throughout the history of such use. It should also be noted that nano sized particles of silver do occur in nature, what is at issue here is the technology of control of the concentrations of particles of silver. This is not to say that nano-technology will create entirely new materials that have astounding properties and will be widely applied to this field of endeavor in the times to come and currently. We have little doubt that particles that are combined that do not otherwise exist in nature will have profound beneficial impacts in a wide array of industrial applications including medicine, but will need proper testing to assure safety and effectiveness. However; it is silly to take a material that has been in wide use for 100 years and have the EPA act as if it is a newly created substance that suddenly requires scientific data beyond what they themselves have already proven, in addition to the vast database and history of colloidal silver aka nano-silver hydrosol. In summary, nano particles of pure elemental substances are usually found in nature, the concern that scientists that we are aware of have with regard to nano-technology concerns the creation of new particles, unnatural particle combinations, or nano particles that do not have a known history of human use and environmental interaction. This is not the case with colloidal silver, it is well known in all regards. We think is is very wise if technologies that are emerging and do not have the long scientific background that silver and other colloidal-nano particles have, should be highly scrutinized and not be used prior to establishing standards for safe use. So why is it that the EPA is not targeting such material, but instead chooses to target a known material of established safety?

Q: What is the difference between the products that you sell at this web site currently and those the dietary supplement you will be offering in the future?

A: This seems to be question with growing interest, therefore we will attempt to answer more thoroughly than past attempts. The short answer is that current products are manufactured in a manner that is consistent with the target markets, which cover an extremely wide array of existing markets or potential markets. That said, the technology will not change at all, in other words in practical terms the products will be the same. What will change is that separate facilities will need to be set up and registered with the FDA along with having met all other regulatory requirements. We have been more than content to work in markets other than dietary supplements, and that market has been plagued with much bad mojo shall we say. It does seem that the barriers and stigma is shifting and as more people indicate to us that they want the dietary version that will motivate us to do so more quickly. Lastly, just because we have indicated that our current product will in essence be that same as future dietary versions, we are not advocating such use by having said that. The main point is that people who are interested in being able to determine the quality of the dietary products that we will be releasing, you can perform testing of our current products now because the quality and performance will in most cases be the same as future dietary products, however such testing should only be done with regard to material performance. Not to be repetitive, but we are not advocating that people literally test current products as dietary supplement, that would be breaking the law.

Q: Your product is unique, why isn't it patented, instead you say it is manufactured via a proprietary process, why, and what do you mean?

A: We do not patent our technology for several reasons, the least of which is that the patent once filed is in essence a schematic that others can use to develop processes that only need a percentage margin of difference to be employed to compete with us. Also a patent is time limited to a period of usually 20 years, unlike Coke's formula or KFC's recipe which lives on as the trademark and signature of their product with no limit. We know that without a map that describes how we do what we do, the chances of someone duplicating the process is negligible if not moot. Thus we keep our technology closely held in the knowing that what we have accomplished is difficult in the extreme, which affords us a healthy measure of self respect as well as personal advantage and security for those who employ our products and us as well.

In any case we enjoy what we do and how we do it, we think you will too.

Q: What uses of the bulk colloidal silver and ionic blends are legal?

A: Simply put there are potentially thousands of legal uses in terms of research and development, which is a principle focus of this product. Bear in mind the stated product description and disclaimer at the top of this page with regard to any use. We only advocate use of our product as it is sold, as per our product labeling.

We do not provide legal or professional advice. Because there are too many and varied potential uses for bulk materials, and therefore a multiplicity of possible associated considerations, we do not give such advice. Therefore it is the sole responsibility of the customer to be sure that whatever the intended use is, that they are using our bulk packaged products in a manner that is in alignment with and mindful of existing regulations, and such use does not violate any laws in any jurisdiction where it is being used.

Those of you considering specific applications of our products who have specific regulatory questions already know that the EPA controls products intended to be used as pesticides and or agricultural purposes generally. The FDA controls food, dietary, cosmetic and pharmaceutical products.

For those considering use of colloidal silver in food or dietary supplement products, there is an excellent remote course offered by the University of Michigan titled Food Regulation in the United States , ANR-490/811, that can be of benefit to those entering such markets, as well as those needing to become up to date regarding compliance and other issues. Q: If I want to use colloidal silver or ionic silver to kills germs, as a pesticide, or for preventing germ growth does the EPA regulate such use of nano silver and ionic silver?

A: The short answer is yes, but you will need to check the regulation etc. yourself to determine the relevance to you, your intended use or your project. As of November 21, 2006 the EPA modified its ruling regarding the use of materials that are regulated under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIDFRA) to include language that manufacturers are now required to provide scientific evidence that their use of materials designed for these purposes won't harm waterways or public health.

EPA Issues Final Rule on Aquatic Pesticide Applications
Release date: 11/21/2006

Snip

"The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) requires that pesticides be registered by EPA before they can be sold or distributed. Before they are registered, they must undergo extensive study and review to help ensure that, when properly used, they do not cause unreasonable adverse effects on human health and the environment. Pesticide labels contain application instructions. Applications of pesticides that violate the FIFRA labels are subject to enforcement.'

Potemkin movement?

http://www.opinionjournal.com/diary/?id=110006449

The Pew Charitable Trusts, a major supported of the think tank involved in influencing nano technology as evidenced above, was established by the heirs of the Sun Oil (Sunoco) fortune.

Regarding nano particles. Ionic colloidal silver and colloidal silver in general are not newly created particles. Pure forms of silver either as ions or as particles ranging from sub nanometer ions or particles exist in nature and are not newly created. The EPA has standards for allowable amounts of silver in drinking water, as it is a material that is already acknowledged to be widely present in virtually all drinking water. Due to the technical nature of the science of colloidal chemistry and nano technology anticipate continued conflicts between nano silver manufacturers and those who are influencing policy and regulatory bodies in such a manner that places undue burden upon long standing established product categories such as colloidal silver, which has a history of use that exceeds 100 years to date.

Yet in spite of these facts the materials involved are merely being treated as new substances due to fact that these long used and studied materials now match more current descriptions. Manufactures in this industry we have spoken with find it to be rather amazing that nano-silver is the target of concern, while actually new materials that have never existed before, and the safety and effects on people and the environment are not known, yet these materials are not the focus of alleged concern regarding the issue of nano-materials, instead nano-silver with a know and established history of use is, and as is evidenced by the EPA Issues Final Rule on Aquatic Pesticide Applications linked above which says the following: "Before they are registered, they must undergo extensive study and review to help ensure that, when properly used, they do not cause unreasonable adverse effects on human health and the environment."

In effect the language used by the EPA means that any manufacturer of a product that is can be classified as a pesticide will need to meet the criteria of "extensive study" which in various EPA material indicates 100 or more serious studies. This ruling does not mention silver nor nay material by name for that matter.

Forward looking statements by the EPA as concern nano-silver ultimately are not specified by this regulation. If colloidal silver, is targeted solely to be regulated as a new nano material. firstly the idea that colloidal silver is new or that the nano sized particles involved are new is in error, and that other actually new materials with no scientific and general use background are not considered as the true focus of the yet to be established safe-to-use and environmentally safe material, speaks volumes as to what the real objective of those pushing for such EPA regulations are really up to. Having to produce extensive scientific evidence of safety for known and proved to be safe materials does not simply threaten this industry. This will set a president that will drive every small manufacturer out of business who cannot afford to conduct such testing that meets their criteria. Serious testing will potentially cost millions, and those who are not up to the task will be driven out of these areas of commerce. This then leaves these already projected to be measured in "trillions" of dollars of markets to only the large corporate conglomerates. What is important to recognize here is that from a scientific perspective many new pharmaceutical antibiotic ingredients and actually new nano-materials that may pose environmental hazards are not the focus of the proposed 'nano' regulation, and if statements to date by the EPA are a

What should be done? THe EPA a an entity of government should work for us, the people and conduct the general testing needed as pertains to the environment and put into record their already extensive research regarding the topic of colloidal-silver. We the people should not fear nor be intimidated, nor have undue burden placed upon us, the people, to both our disadvantage, yet to the advantage of wealthy industrialists.

The Solution? What should happen is that the EPA should bear the burden of producing 'probable cause', should take into account that they are negatively effecting the U.S. economy significantly by disrupting a market acknowledge to be valued in billions that is well known and long standing as a safe. The EPA should bear the cost of proving or disproving their environmental concerns to the advantage of all consumers and manufacturers as a science-driver tool to improve the US economy. As it stands our company is already considering moving off-shore, think about this people. If we allow our government to destroy entrepreneurs rather than help them, we will lose the balance of cost effectiveness now manifest in the mark let place, we will lose access in whole or in part to such products as will be effected, and while this occurs we will not be protected from potentially-truly dangerous and unknown effects of products that will go unchecked. What this appears to be when all facets of this issue are considered, is yet another example of powerful interests contriving and conspiring with our governmental agencies to the benefit of big business and to the detriment of the public, while feigning or manipulated to believe they are acting in the public interest as a matter of serious public interest, in a manner that address the most pressing issues first and foremost.

When upon investigation of the matter as a whole, as we have done, it is clear that as concerns nano-technology in particular, true potential dangers are going undressed and small business is being destroyed to the benefit of big business by actions such as these. Keep in mind that colloidal silver and similar minerals in the 10 - 20 ppm range, and from 1-100 nanometers are nothing more that fancy forms of mineral water. Do you really feel that the EPA's energy is best spent protecting you from mineral water that has more than a 100 year history of use, and in essence is a part of natural water sources for millions or billions of years, or would you be more concerned about nano materials that have been very recently engineered/created?

We should also take note that these newly created materials are already being used in food and personal care items, materials that have never existed before, that have attributes that have never existed before and whose use, safety and effectiveness is measured in mere months or a few years. Yet these materials are low on the list of EPA concerns as compared to mineral water? Why, we think it is because as has been noted in the above links, that silver nano particles and ions are big business, and projected to be huge business, that big business wants to keep to itself by making it impossible for anyone but big business to participate in. Is it mere speculation that this industry has been targeted by contrived reasons, or is it easily deduced fact, look more deeply yourself and you be the judge.

Dr. Rustum Roy of Penn State University, made a recent appeal to FDA, asking that they consider the evidence of benefits as a safe antibacterial solution. The EPA action in response? So far, the response was to post a toxic statement from their archives about overdose effects.

Lastly, for those who think that these actions are not outlandish, and that it is really big money whose interests are actually being served, and who are also calling the shots, consider this; while the level of silver as an environmental contaminant is dropping due to the all-but eliminated use in photo processing, and while nano particles and amounts of silver are targeted as a new-material contaminant, a known serious contaminant (LEAD) is being considered by the EPA/Government to be removed from the list of 'pollutants' during this same time frame - go figure!

I am not the only one who has made these observations:

"Some of the R&D reports that cite all of the "BOO FACTORS" about nanotechnology are paid for by companies that are trying to dominate this science globally. Firms like Dow, DuPont, Halliburton, etc that have a game plan that they will dominate the next $1 to $2 trillion per year industry.

It will not happen for several reasons, first being the United States does not hold the patent on math, chemistry, physics, quantum mechanics, or nanotechnology. You have to consider the intellectual arrogance of a nation that would presume such, as if they alone had the right to music and art and quality of life.

It will not happen but that is what they are trying to do. They are trying to dissuade venture capitalists, major investors, and even start up companies like mine from coming into the market with better technology and taking considerable blocks of market share on scientific excellence alone. I do not have to write a diatribe to convince most Americans that Halliburton does not excel at anything but questionable business practices and unmitigated greed.

I can assertively state that they do not excel at nanotechnology."

Q: Does the FDA regulate colloidal silver?

A: The short answer is yes. The FDA controls food, dietary, cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, so it is the intended use that determines FDA oversight.

In 1994 We are awaiting the finalization of FDA regulation that will yet need to be met before proceeding to establish our FDA cGMP approved manufacturing facility. cGMP is in essence FDA oversight and registration of a manufacturing facility specifically for dietary use, by newly established regulations.

In 1993 the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced three major regulatory initiatives designed to further implement the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA). These initiatives -- a regulatory strategy, an open public meeting, and a draft guidance document for industry -- are significant steps FDA has taken in the implementation of DSHEA.

These regulations are expected to be fully implemented during 2007-2008.

Colloidal silver had been used as a medicine from before the FDA was formed and had been grand-fathered as a medicine (primarily an antibiotic) until the FDA made a ruling in 1999 removing the medicine status via the so-called final ruling regarding over the counter use (medical use) on August 17, 1999. For those in need of determining what potential regulations might be involved for your particular idea of potential commercial product application, for your convenience we have included a few links to several governmental agencies that might be relevant and of assistance to you:

Q: What do you have to say about toxicity? What is Argyria and where can I find out more about that issue?

A: One of the most highly-charged topics regarding colloidal silver is the issue of toxicity, and by extension benefit. This is a topic that should be given proper attention and a technically accurate treatment. To date this is an issue that has been largely clouded by error misinformation and has not been treated with the proper technical attention that it is due.

The short answer is that even in the event of an adult or child consuming a bottle of our products inadvertently, there would be no ill effect, as the amount of silver consumed would not ,meet the EPA requirement for ill effects in such an event.

In fact the only issue cited by the EPA regarding silver exposure is argyria, and ultimately is only relevant to extreme misuse or past medical experimentation of compounds that contain silver, not to current technology.

In order to address this issue in more detail please go to the Reading Room and read the section titled Colloidal Silver Toxicology.

Q: I did a google search about colloidal silver and the first thing that came up was an article that has nothing good to say about colloidal silver, what do you have to say about this issue?

A: We are quite aware of the few puny pages that always come up in first position in google since 1997 that pronounce risk without benefit. Our best response is read the many pages in the knowledge base as a starting point to form your own, well-rounded opinion. If you need only a few self proclaimed experts to tell you what to think, and are happy doing that, then so be it. However; we are not to be counted among that crowd, and would rather think for ourselves. We do not promote the idea that we or others have a patent on the truth, nor do we believe that we or any other individual is the only source of information on this topic, nor are we saying that there is only one viable perspective as pertains to any given area of focus regarding this topic.

Q: Can the products you sell be used to treat disease?

A: The short answer is NO. Colloidal silver was a medicine until the FDA took away that status in 1999. Colloidal silver can still be used as a dietary supplement. Also see: Does the FDA regulate colloidal silver?

Q: I read something on the Internet that conflicts with what you have to say at this web site, and other suppliers say only they have the best product, how do you respond?

A: We have dealt with the my dad's particles are smaller than your dad's particles mentality for more than 8 years at the time of this writing, as a corporation. Yes, we do mean there is a certain childishness by certain people whom shall go nameless. We do not attack others to prop our selves up, and in essence as we have explained numerous times, we do not even view most other companies as competition, as what they do, how they do it and what they offer is most often far removed from the products and markets we have dealt with. We compete with our own excellence as a matter of personal pride and accomplishment. We compete in the marketplace because hype may make an initial sale but quality and price creates staying power. Try our products because they are the best deal out there, come back because you have found they work and are priced low because our technology is high, which is the thing our competitors fear the most, and our customers like the best. We do answer reasonable relevant questions but we do not engage in banter as if we need to defend ourselves against others' comments and opinions, and we do mean it is usually a matter of opinion rather than scientific fact that is at the core of most contentions. Please be respectful of our busy schedule and first read the whole reading room section for answers to the most common questions and technical issues if your objective is of primarily an informational nature as a matter of study. Thanks!
